Born in Fresno, California, Charlie Roberts grew up in Burrell as the middle child of three, with two sisters. He has a daughter, Mikayla, and spent his early years working on a dairy farm. A graduate of Washington Union High School (1983) and Fresno City College (1984), Charlie became the youngest school bus driver in California, later working as a Safety Specialist for Fresno Unified School District.
Charlie faced a major challenge during COVID-19, spending 30 days on a ventilator, but emerged with renewed passion for life. He enjoys barbecuing, riding ATVs, and dedicating time to community service. A Clovis Lions Club member for 25 years, he served as club president in 2000 and was a CHP Senior Volunteer in 2023. His favorite memories include working with the Clovis Police Activity League, where he met incredible people and made a lasting impact.
Committed to giving back, Charlie has volunteered with United Way, Boys & Girls Clubs, Special Olympics, Red Cross, Coffee with a Cop, and Big Brothers Big Sisters. His passion for service continues to shape the community he loves.
