The Sample Family

The Sample Family was inducted into the Clovis Hall of Fame in 1999. The humble beginnings of the Sample Family began with a gentlemen named David Cowan Sample. David "Bud" first arrived in California in 1868, shearing sheep and taking their wool throughout California. Eventually David made his way to Fresno and married Sally Cole the daughter of William T. Cole; becoming the parents of eleven children. To this day their decedents still live in the Clovis foothills.
